We are an economically and politically independent consultancy and research bureau with branches in Bern and Altdorf. Founded in 1988, Ecoplan is a public limited company that is wholly owned by its partners. Our success is measured by the satisfaction of our customers. The key to this lies both in the quality of our analysis and consultancy services and in our close working relationships with our customers. Ecoplan provides its services carbon neutral.

Heini Sommer has been Senior Consultant since 2023. He was previously a partner at Ecoplan since 1989 and President of the board of directors for many years. He focuses on transport, environmental and energy policy as well as on the moderation and support of strategic processes. In additon, he is Head of the Asylum and Migration Division. He studied economics, business administration and labour law at the University of Bern (1984). From 1984 to 1988 he was a research assistant at the University of Bern Institute of Economics and obtained his doctorate in 1989 with a thesis on motorway cost calculations in the Swiss cantons.
